Awakening

My group hastened after dark

To fix the posters and pamphlets

Throughout the city

We finished the job

Great enthusiasm in my sleepy body

Something definite will happen

Tomorrow

Walls talked

And so did the Streets,

Next morning

City was quiet, as usual

My enthusiasm listless

Everyone busy in one’s own affairs

Nothing happens

A week passes

Nothing at all

Just as old

In the slow city, I strolled yesterday,

And realized

People now talk further with their eyes

Glued on the eyes of the person in front.
