Kabir

We’re absolutely unfit
To live, Kabir
Established order has proved
It long before.

Our waxen minds are devoid of any prospectus in world’s finance.
Even a naked urchin tells us
This brazen truth , casually.

Kabir,
Romantic dreams
We cherished of the world
In our eyes’s corneas
Have turned objects of ridicule in public.

All referents of life
Have so altered,Kabir,
That virtue is transmuted into voice.

Obsolute ideals
Have rendered us lumbersome
In dark cellar of our own house.

Kabir,
Hiding our poverty beneath the covering cotton sheet
Are we
But,they sell in open markets
the garments gifted to the earthquake affected people
and they’re all honorable men.
The world’s progressed in great strides, Kabir
Beyond any reckon, on corrupt paths.
And we ,with our feather-soft bosoms
Have been nengrossed just in ourselves.

What the hell have they got to do
With our earnestness?
Our minds were knocked out long ago.

Whosoever visit here bunches his own one more nail and
Leaves Jesus nailed in his own way.
Now, he’s replete with nails.

Kabir
We suffered like those in Bhopal tragedy
Unable to run even helter-skelter
Due to poison-gas leakage-
Unable to see, unable to shut eyelashes.
The moment you try to breath in.
Death holds you in tight clasp.

They, the rouges, pulled down
The mosque in our minds, long ago.

How beautiful how straight forward and joyous
Once life was, Kabir:
These bullies made mess of things
Beneath our noses,
Futile it was, Kabir
To impart of peace, of love,
Through your dohas .
These broker, burdened their heads
With bundles of lethal arms at last.
